Woman robbed of gold chain at Mojukere

MANGALORE: A youth reportedly snatched a gold chain from a woman at Mojukere under Mangalore North (Bunder) Police Station limits on Wednesday. Police said the complainant Devaki, a resident of Alake, was walking when the youth came from behind and snatched the chain valued at Rs. 20,000. Police are investigating.

Accidents

Four persons were injured, one of whom is serious, in two separate road accidents reported from Mangalore North Police Station limits.

The Mangalore North Police who had registered separate cases in this regard have transferred the cases to the Mangalore East and the Mangalore West Traffic police stations respectively for investigation.

Avinash and Manjunath, students, who returning home from tuitions, were injured when a city bus rammed into their scooter near Bunts Hostel Circle.

Gururaj and Dharmaraj of Vamanjoor were injured when an autorickshaw collided with their motorcycle on Azizuddin Road on Tuesday.

The injured are undergoing treatment at hospitals.

Arrested

Personnel of the Dakshina Kannada District Crime Intelligence Bureau have arrested two persons and recovered three motorcycles from them on Tuesday. The accused reportedly stole three motorcycles from different parts of the city, a press release from B. Dayananda, Superintendent of Police, stated.

The accused were arrested at Mahakalipadpu on National Highway 17 while coming from Ullal.

During interrogation, Mohammed Arif (21) and Manoj (29), residents of Bajal, reportedly confessed to having committed the thefts between July 5 and July 7.

They reportedly stole a motorcycle from Falnir on July 5, another one from a parking lot on July 6 and the third one from Saibeen Complex on July 7 .

The value of the stolen vehicles is Rs. 93,000.
