BJP, SIO condemn terror attacks in Mumbai

MANGALORE: The Dakshina Kananda district committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has condemned the terrorist attacks in Mumbai and Srinagar. A press release from K. Monappa Bhandary, district spokesperson of the party, here on Wednesday described Tuesday's incidents as a "despicable act" aimed at creating disorder and spreading insecurity among people of the country.

Stating that terrorists were indulging in acts of terror with impunity across the county for the past two years, Mr. Bhandary criticised the failure of the Union and State governments in taking action.

`Heinous crime'

The Students Islamic Organization of India (SIO) also condemned the serial blasts in Mumbai. State president of SIO Hashmathullha Khan in a press release here termed it a "heinous crime against humanity". He expressed his deep condolence to the relatives of those affected.

He urged the government to trace the culprits and bring them to justice.
