Land acquisition

KOCHI: Those who have been issued warrants for acquisition of land for widening Sahodaran Ayappan Road will be evicted on Thursday. District authorities are expected to begin eviction by 9 a.m. The operations are expected to be completed by evening, said District Collector A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish here. — Staff Reporter

CPI(M) plea

KOCHI: The Ernakulam district committee of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) has urged the State Government to work out plans to include the city among locations identified for setting up petrochemical hubs in the country. Quoting newspaper reports, district secretary of the party Gopi Kottamurickal said Kochi seemed not to be among sites selected for the project. — Staff Reporter

Health camp

KOCHI: Amruta Ayurveda Hospital will organise a free `marma chikitsa' camp, in association with the city corporation, at the Town Hall here on July 16. K.V. Thomas, MLA, will inaugurate the camp. — Staff Reporter
