Meeting on quota in education

KOCHI: A meeting on the issue of reservation for Backward Communities in education sector will be held at the Town Hall here on July 14. The meeting is the second of the three regional meetings being organised by the United Forum for Reservation.

The meetings are being held to support the move to give 27 per cent reservation to Backward Communities in higher education. National figures such as Shemim Ahmed, vice-chancellor of Jamia Hamdard University and Dalit leader Kancha Ilaya are expected to speak.
