Debris clogs drains

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Airport Road Flyover, constructed by the Bangalore Development Authority, is causing some problems for residents of Indira Nagar and HAL 2nd Stage.

Debris from the flyover has clogged the sewage drains resulting in back flooding of the sewage into homes. There is about two feet of sewage in the basement of Thimarayappa's clinic in Indira Nagar. "I have pumped it out thrice in the last month. But it continues to flood," he said.

HAL 2nd Stage Residents' Welfare Association said the clogging of the sewage drains had resulted in foul smell emanating from them in the area. "There is an obnoxious smell in the area. It is difficult for us to live," said K.K. Gopalakrishnan, vice-president of the association.
