Two youth snatch tax consultant's bag

HYDERABAD: Two youngsters, who reportedly came in a Toyota Innova, snatched a bag containing documents from a pedestrian at Ameerpet on Wednesday evening.

Shyam Sundar Agarwal (50), a tax consultant from Erragadda was walking past Vijayalaxmi theatre after finishing his work at Tirumala jewellery shop around 5.40 p.m. when an Innova stopped beside him on the road. Two youngsters got down from the vehicle,snatched his bag and tried to flee.

"Recovering from the shock, Mr. Agarwal ran behind the vehicle and forced his way into it, pleading with them that there were no valuables in the bag," Punjagutta ACP R. Gopal Raju said.

However, the snatchers pushed him out and sped away towards Ameerpet crossroads.

He sustained aninjury on his head and was taken to the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences where he was treated as an outpatient.

He later told the police that he could not note down the vehicle's number.
