Mumbai blasts condemned

HYDERABAD: Scores of Bharatiya Janata Party activists, led by its State president N. Indrasena Reddy, staged demonstration here at RTC crossroads on Wednesday condemning the serial bomb blasts that rocked Mumbai on Tuesday. The protestors burnt effigy of Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) agency accusing it of masterminding the terrorist attacks.

The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha workers, led by its leader Swami Goud, also blocked Kothapet road in LB Nagar in protest against the terrorist violence. Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh Christian Federation has condemned the Mumbai blasts and the grenade attacks on Amarnath Yatra pilgrims in Srinagar.

In a separate release, the National Congress of Indian Christians too condemned the incidents and demanded that the Government take stern action against the culprits and put an end to terrorist acts. The Confederation of Voluntary Associations (COVA) and other organisations condemned the serial blasts and called upon the countrymen to unite and defeat the forces that were trying to destroy the social fabric.

In a joint statement issued by COVA, Brahmakumaris' Ishwariya Viswavidyalaya, Buddhist Society of India, Jain Seva Sangh, Jamat-e-Islami, Shah Educational Society, Madina Educational Society, Anveshi, Forum for a Better Hyderabad, and other organisations, a condolence meeting at the Madina Education Centre, opposite Public Gardens, from 3 p.m. on Thursday.
