Bank break-in: furniture damaged, nothing stolen
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
Unidentified persons broke into the State Bank of Hyderabad at Chevella in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district on Tuesday night. Strangely, they damaged everything they could lay their hands on but did not take away anything.
"This made us doubt if those who broke into the bank wanted to steal something or just express their ire by damaging the bank property," Chevella Inspector K. Srikanth said on Wednesday. Around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, the bank officials noticed the break-in and alerted the police.
The bank had no watchman. There was a security alarm but it was connected only to the strong room. Police are relying on the prints collected from the scene to track down the culprits.
