NEW DELHI: The issue of unauthorised constructions in the Capital once again generated a lot of heat at the Municipal Corporation of Delhi Standing Committee meeting on Wednesday with councillors of both the ruling Congress and the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party accusing the executive wing, particularly its assistant engineers and junior engineers, of having failed to check ongoing illegal constructions across the city.
They also criticised Municipal Commissioner A.K.Nigam for having failed to take action against the guilty assistant engineers and junior engineers despite strict directions from the court and pending inquiries against them. Alleging that there was "deep-rooted" corruption
