Sethuraman impresses

NEW DELHI : S.P. Sethuraman continued to impress in the Andorra International Open chess tournament when he defeated Spain's IM Francisco Sanz Alonso to reach 3.5 points after five rounds at Andorra La Vella on Wednesday.

Lanka Ravi and Saptarshi Roy (four points each) won their games to share the second spot with eight others behind leader Fernando Peralta (4.5) of Argentina.

Meanwhile, at Benasque, Spain, Tania Sachdev (5.5 points) pulled off a stunning victory over Armenian Grandmaster Karen Movsziszian (2507) in the seventh round.
