Melbourne: India `A' wrapped up New Zealand `A's second innings for 153 to set itself a target of 206 for victory on the third day of the four-day match in the Top End cricket series at Darwin on Thursday. At stumps, India `A' was one without loss with C. Pujara and Shikhar Dhawan at the crease. Earlier, New Zealand's off-spinner Jeetan Patel took four for 68, which also included his 100th first-class wicket, to dismiss India `A' for 280 in the first innings after it resumed at 209 for six. Overnight batsmen Tejinder Pal Singh and Rohit Sharma went on to score 85 and 57 respectively, but India `A' ended up conceding a 52-run first innings lead. However, India `A' hit back through paceman R.P. Singh who claimed four wickets for 33 runs in 18 overs. R.J. Nicol was the top scorer with 55. In another match, opener Mohammad Hafeez compiled an imperious 180 as Pakistan `A' made 431 in reply to Australia `A's 510 on the third day. Australia `A' was 57 for two in its second innings at stumps for a lead of 136. Phil Jaques was not out on 37. Hafeez's massive innings and a handy 71 by Shahid Yousuf gave Pakistan hope of approaching Australia's total. However, the tourists lost their last five wickets for only 26 runs.
The scores: New Zealand `A' 332 and 153 (R.J. Nicol 55, R.P. Singh four for 33) vs India `A' 280 (T.P. Singh 85, R. Sharma 57, S. Badrinath 55, J. Patel four for 68) and one without loss. Australia `A' 510 for six decl. and 57 for two vs Pakistan `A' 431 (M. Hafeez 180, S. Yousuf 71, Bazid Khan 53, Bailey four for 71).
