BANGALORE: SAI (Dharwad) shrugged aside its loss to Koramangala SC on Wednesday and posted an impressive 70-50 win over Young Orions SC in the quarterfinals of the state association conducted `B' Division basketball league at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium outdoor courts here on Thursday. P. Naresh (28, four three-pointers) and Tousaf Hussein (26) starred with some fine shooting in the Dharwad side's fluent victory. The winners led 39-28 at half-time. Young Orions SC kept itself in the hunt with some shrewd ball play by Hardeep and Sriram, but just could not put it across their rivals. SAI (Dharwad) will clash with NAL Colony, a 41-33 winner over Orions SC, in the semifinals. NAL was once again helped by Hemanth and Sandeep, both of whom tallied 10 points each. The results: Quarterfinals: NAL Colony 41 (Hemanth 10, Sandeep 10) bt Orions SC 33 (Sashidar 11); SAI (Dharwad) 70 (Naresh 28, Tausaf Hussein 26) bt Young Orions SC 50 (Hardeep 14, Sriram 10, Rajesh 10). League matches: Davanga Union 63 (Muniranga 18, Naveen 12) bt BEL 40 (Vinod Kumar 14, Bheemaiah 12, Rajshekar 11); Bharath Sports Union 45 (Ashok Bhanda 25, Ashwin 10) bt Orions 25 (Suhas 11). Relegation league: DRDO 56 (Vadivelan 15, Chari 11) bt Falcons 46 (Mathar 18).
