Results: Kho kho: Boys (final): AJHS Ramanthapur bt AJHS Amberpet 2-1. (Semifinals): AJHS Ramanthapur bt Vignan HS 10-2; AJHS Amberpet bt St. Joseph's 3-2. Girls (final): AJHS Ramanthapur bt AJHS Amberpet 3-2. (Semifinals): AJHS Ramanthapur bt Sahiti HS (Uppal) 6-2; AJHS (Amberpet) bt AJHS (Uppal) 3-2. SZ carrom
The Indus Ind South Zone carrom championship will be held at the Fateh Maidan Indoor Stadium from July 14 to 16, according to B.K. Haranath, president of Hyderabad Carrom Association. The event is being held as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the All India Carrom Federation. The championship features team events for men and women, singles for men, women, junior boys and girls. The team competition will be played on league basis and the other events on knock-out basis. K.V.S.S. Murthy will be the chief referee. All Institutional players are barred from participating and therefore world champion S. Appoorwa and P. Nirmala will not represent the State. Haranath added that two SAAP coaching centres would be started very soon at the Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy Indoor Stadium here and at Kodad. The HCA will felicitate Appoorwa, Nirmala, D. Ravinder Goud, reigning men's National champion, National junior girls champion Ch. Srenica and S. Aditya and L. Suryaprakash, who were ranked second and third respectively in the country in the youth category.
Tennis tournament
A record 250 entries were confirmed for the India Cements-Championship Series tennis tournament to be organised by Pro Tennis Academy at the Fateh Maidan SAAP Tennis Complex from July 15 to 21, according to S. Narendranath, tournament director. Top junior players from all over the country including Daniel Raj, C. Mohana Sai Madhuri, Divya Maduka Rao, Yash Deshmukh, Vaidehi Bhagwat, Pratharna Thombre and Pooja Narayan will be in action. The winner will get 20 points, runner-up 15 and the semifinalists 10 points. There will be scholarships from the main draw, while the winners and runners-up will be given trophies and certificates.
