Govt. constitutes project clearance board

Staff Correspondent

BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh Government has constituted a Project Clearance and Implementation Board (PCIB), to be headed by the State Chief Secretary, to sanction proposals for private capital investment.

The new board has already met thrice and cleared several proposals. It is scheduled to meet at least twice a month.

If necessary, the investors or their representatives would be invited to attend these meetings.

In the final stage, the board would have to seek the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's approval for its recommendations.

According to an official spokesman here, the purpose behind setting up the Board is to ensure maximum coordination among the concerned departments when it comes to processing proposals linked with the industrial, service and infrastructure sectors.

The project clearance board would monitor the entire process for clearance of proposals and ensuring necessary sanction within a time-bound period.
