NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Secretary R. Narayanswami on Thursday reviewed the power situation in the Capital at a meeting with Director (Operation) of Transco and senior officers of New Delhi Municipal Council, power distribution companies and the State Power Department. It was pointed out during the meeting that Delhi had not been getting its share of 60 MW from the silt-affected Salal hydroelectric power plant. Apart from this, supply of 70 MW from the 500 MW Rihand Power Plant has also been suspended because of boiler tube leakage. Delhi was able to fully meet 3,200-3,300 MW peak time power demand on Thursday. The power generation at the Salal plant was expected to resume late on Thursday night while generation at the Rihand Power Plant is expected to become normal on Friday.
