Teach Kannada, private schools told

BANGALORE: Schools, especially those teaching Central syllabus, should give prominence to Kannada subject, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Basavaraj Horatti has said.

Speaking at the silver jubilee celebrations of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) Composite Pre-University College here on Thursday, Mr. Horatti said students in these schools should be taught the language of the State. Kannada should be taught as the first language, similar as was done in Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.
