Special Correspondent

KOLKATA: An aircraft with 90 passengers on board and headed for Yangon via Gaya cut short its journey after one of its tyres deflated while taking off from Gaya on Friday and made a precautionary landing at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International airport .

Airport officials said the pilot of the Airbus 320 aircraft decided on the landing to attend to the rear tyre. Emergency facilities that included fire-tenders and ambulances were kept ready.

After passengers disembarked, the aircraft was towed to the isolation bay where the fault was attended to.
