PONDICHERRY: The High Court has directed the Chief Secretary, who is also the State Chief Information Commissioner, to give particulars about the complaints received against a PWD official under the Right to Information Act. The directive came in response to a writ filed by Devadoss after his petitions seeking details about the complaints against Superintendent Engineer, Anandane, who is now been designated as Project Manager of Pondicherry Medical College Society, were unattended by the Information Commissioner and Public Information Officer. The court directed on July 4 to "take up the appeal filed by the petitioner on February 20 for hearing and pass appropriate orders on merit and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of the order". In his writ the petitioner had stated that he first filed an application seeking information with the Public Information Officer in December last year. When there was no replay he moved an application with the Chief Secretary in February seeking the same but it met with the same fate.
