Airtel launches FWP service

KOCHI:
Airtel has launched Fixed Wireless Phone (FWP) services in Kerala. The service is being launched in a phased manner in the State, starting with the cities of Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode.
The service called `Airtel Mega' operates on GSM network, said Ramgopal Vallath, COO of Bharti Airtel Limited, Kerala Circle.
It is available in postpaid and prepaid tariff plans and offers facilities such as SMS, caller ID, missed call alerts, ring tones, speed dialling, call history memory, alarm, calculator and STD/ISD lock. A choice of three phone models would be available for the customer, he said.
The service would be rolled out progressively across the length and breadth of Airtel's wireless network.
