KARAIKAL: E.Thangavadivel, Congress councillor, was elected unopposed vice-Chairman of Karaikal municipality on Friday, said Sudhir Kumar, District Election Officer-cum-Collector, Karaikal, here. R.Prabhavathi of Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam, was recently, elected chairperson of the municipality. In the 18-member municipal council, Congress has the maximum number of seven councillors followed by DMK five, DMDK two, PMC one and independents three.
