Brazilian coach for East Bengal

KOLKATA: City football giant Kingfisher East Bengal has drafted in the services of Brazilian Roberto Pereira Da Silva in a bid to brighten its prospects in the coming season. Da Silva, a resident of Rio De Janeiro, arrived here on Friday amid much fanfare as the club hoped to break its two-year drought of titles in the national stage.

The sixty-year-old coach, having a coaching experience of more than thirty years, said that his main interest was to improve the standard of the game of the team.

The coach, who is on a one-year contract with the club, said he will take some time to assess the players. Da Silva replaces Belgian Philippe de Ridder. — Principal Correspondent
