Sethuraman on course

NEW DELHI: Continuing his remarkable run, 13-year-old S.P. Sethuraman drew with Spanish GM Salvador Del Rio Angelis in the sixth round to stay on course for an International Master norm at the Andorra International Open chess tournament on Thursday.

Sethuraman, rated 224 points below his rival at 2290, now has four points and next faces Spaniard Jesus De La Villa Garcia in the seventh round.

Among the Indians, Abhijeet Gupta and Lanka Ravi led the pack with 4.5 points each. Four players share the lead with five points.

Meanwhile, at the Benasque Open in Spain, Tania Sachdev (5.5) lost to Ukrainian GM Sergei Krivoshey, rated 2500, in the eighth round.
