KURNOOL: Deputy Inspector General K.R.M. Kishore Kumar presented cash rewards to policemen and officers for their exemplary service during local bodies elections in the district recently. SP B. Malla Reddy and Additional SP Ravinder Reddy were present. Among those who received the cash rewards include head constable Peddaiah and constable Madhava Swamy of Dhone police station, who guarded the polling staff and a polling station where two murders allegedly took place. They also ensured that the ballot boxes were safely deposited. At Nadichagi, head constable Somla Naik and home guard Sattar opened fire to disperse warring groups. At Chigili, Armed Reserve Unit constable E. Jayaramudu opened fire and brought the situation under control. At Nossam in Sanjamala police limits, Armed Reserve Constable Ramanjaneyulu opened fire in the air to disperse clashing groups. The DIG also complimented Devanakonda Sub-Inspector Venugopal.
