Student injured in fall from college building
Staff Reporter
His classmates report him as feeling homesick Doctors say he is out of danger
HYDERABAD:
An Intermediate first year student of Narayana Junior College, K. Sumanth Kumar, 17, suffered injuries after falling from the third floor of his college building at Vanasthalipuram on Friday evening.
"It appears Kumar tried to end his life going by circumstantial evidence and the version of his classmates that he had been feeling homesick," Vanasthalipuram Inspector M. Chandrashekhar said. However, he said, the facts were yet to be ascertained.
Kumar was attending a session meant for clarification of doubts around 6.30 p.m. when he went out to answer nature's call. A few minutes later, another student too went out. He grew suspicious as Kumar was not seen at the toilet.
"Even as the latter was searching for Kumar, a sound was heard and Kumar was seen lying on the ground with bleeding injuries on his head," the Inspector said. Kumar is from Nirmal of Adilabad. He was shifted to Kamineni hospital where doctors said his condition was out of danger.
