HYDERABAD: He secured a degree in MBA and was desperate to settle in America as a manager in a blue chip company. By a strange twist of fate, M. Vamshi Krishna has ended up behind bars on the charge of involvement in 27 burglaries and thefts. The Cyberabad police on Friday arrested Krishna and recovered stolen gold ornaments, electronic goods and mobile phones all worth Rs. 11 lakhs. Hailing from a poor family of a remote Vetapalem village in Prakasam district, the youngster completed his PG from Thangavelu University in Chennai. His village is near Stuvartpuram where burglary is a profession for scores of families. "He met one such thief when the latter took shelter in his hut. On seeing the posh house of burglar Munga Sudhakar, he was attracted to committing offences," Cyberabad special crime team Sub-Inspector D.S.A. Prasad said. "Krishna was put in the company of Sharath by a Stuvartpuram gang," Mr. Prasad said. From 2000 to 2005, the duo committed several burglaries. In 2005, Krishna shifted his residence to Miyapur and broke into 27 houses. Sharath is yet to be arrested.
