Medical negligence alleged in patient's death
Staff Reporter
Thiruvananthapuram:
The Medical College police have registered an FIR on the basis of a complaint of medical negligence filed by the relatives of an LLB student, Sony Sando (25) of Kudappanakkunnu , who died at the Medical College hospital on Friday evening, allegedly following certain complications after he underwent an MRI scan.
According to the police, Sony had been under treatment at the Neurology department at Medical College since July 7. On Friday morning, following the directions of the doctor, he underwent an MRI scan and EEG at a private scan centre. He allegedly started vomiting and shivering. As his condition worsened, he was shifted to the medical ICU where he died on Friday. The relatives alleged that the youth died following an overdose of drugs.
