Rally spreads value of primary education

Students carry placards stressing role of education in one's life

Tuticorin : The Minister for Animal Husbandry, P. Geetha Jeevan, on Saturday flagged off a rally, organised by the Department of Education, to mark the birth anniversary of the former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj.

Students of St. Xavier's Boys Higher Secondary School, Karapettai Boys HSS, St. Aloysius Girls HSS, Lasalle Boys HSS, Karapettai Girls HSS and the Holy Cross Girls HSS participated in the rally, which was conducted to spread the importance of primary education.

They carried placards stressing the role of education in one's life and the need for mandatory primary education.

The rally began from the St. Xavier's Boys HSS and culminated at the Karapettai Boys HSS.

The Collector, R. Palaniyandi, the Chief Educational Officer, D. Hariharan, the Revenue Divisional Officer, S. Karunanidhi, the Project Officer of DRDA, A. Palanisamy, and the Personal Assistant (Noon Meal) to Collector, S. Deivanayaki, were present.
