ADILABAD: The Road Transport Department and the traffic police on Sunday jointly organised programmes for awareness on road safety for schoolchildren as part of the Road Safety Week being celebrated here. A rally of schoolchildren was led by Deputy Transport Commissioner P. Sreeramulu, Adilabad DSP Ratan Singh and DSP Hussain in this connection. The rally started at TNGO home and wound its way through bus stand, Ambedkar Chowk, Gandhi Chowk and Vinayak Chowk and terminated at the same place. Earlier in the day, essay competition on road safety was conducted. Prizes were distributed to the winners of these competitions.
