Letters to the Editor
This refers to the editorial "Poor, suffering Lebanon" (July 15). It is rather unfortunate to see the international community's response to Israeli strikes on Lebanon. Worse, the United States is all set to veto any action in the Security Council. It is no one's case that Hizbollah is right. But the issue should be handled diplomatically. The innocent civilians, particularly children, and the infrastructure of Lebanon should not become the casualty in the bargain.
K. Ragavan,
* * * While Israel's response to the abduction of two of its soldiers by Hizbollah is disproportionate, it certainly is not terroristic. The Hizbollah is squarely to blame. Israel's response may be disproportionate but without such aggression it cannot exist surrounded by hostile nations.
Sannapareddy Krishna Reddy,
