Seats quota: Government staff plan protest

Special Correspondent

Pondicherry: The Confederation of Associations of State Government Employees will launch an agitation here on July 21 to persuade the administration to procure 70 per cent seats for students sponsored by the Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) in privately run medical and engineering colleges in the Union Territory. The protest would be held in collaboration with various political parties, parents and teachers associations. Mr. Anandarasan urged the Pondicherry Administration to emulate the initiative taken by governments in the neighbouring States in fixing a satisfactory quota. .
