GANDHINAGAR: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's programme to visit Mumbai on Monday stays. He will address a BJP rally protesting against the recent bomb blasts. A spokesperson of his office said there was no communication from the Maharashtra Government advising him against the visit in view of the threat from the Samajwadi Party to oppose his entry. Mr. Modi, however, will stay there briefly and return to Gandhinagar after addressing the rally. He has no plans to visit those injured in the bomb blasts or go to the sites of the incidents. For Mr. Modi, it would be a show of solidarity with the Gujaratis killed or injured in the bomb blasts. He would be under pressure to claim that the recent blasts were not a reaction to the 2002 Gujarat riots, but rather a continuation of attacks on trains in London and Madrid as part of global terror plans.
