It's funny: Dhaka

Haroon Habib

DHAKA: Dhaka has dismissed the allegation by a section of the Indian media that a major portion of the explosives used in the recent Mumbai serial bombings went from Bangladesh.

State Minister for Home Affairs Lutfozzaman Babar brushed aside the claim as ``funny." ``It is nothing but ridiculous, it is impossible."

He added: "It might be a counter-allegation ... as the explosives recovered last year from the members of Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) after the countrywide bombing were of Indian origin and were smuggled into Bangladesh through border areas of India."

He said security had been revamped after Tuesday's Mumbai blasts .
