ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Foreign Office said on Sunday the arrest of two Pakistanis in Nepal was not linked to the Mumbai blasts but to a 2001 case. It did not specify what the 2001 case was. It said in a statement that the two were working for a Pakistani company that had a road construction project in Nepala few years ago. According to the statement, the company had said that the two had no connection to the 2001 case either, and frequented Nepal to collect outstanding payments from road works authorities. "These persons had gone to Nepal on July 8 for the same purpose after seeking prior appointment with the concerned department and were in Nepal when they were detained. We are in touch with the Nepalese side through diplomatic channels in this matter," the statement said.
