Aman Gul halts Sahaj Gulati's run

NEW DELHI: Sahaj Gulati's excellent run came to a grinding halt as he lost to Pakistan's Aman Gul in the third round of the men's section in the Northern India Open squash championship here on Sunday.

Sahaj gave a good fight in the first game in which he took three points, but his resilience waned in the second. Gul wrapped up the match 9-3, 9-1, 9-0.

In an all-Pakistan affair, World No. 48 Khayal Mohammed Khan blanked Waqar Yousuf 9-0, 9-0, 9-0.

Top seed Ritwik Bhattacharya was stretched a bit, but cruised into the quarterfinals with a 9-4, 9-0, 9-0 drubbing of Prateek Chalia.

In the women's section, Saima blanked Vasundhara 9-0, 9-0, 9-0 to make it to the quarterfinals.
