New Delhi: Bangalore will host India's AFC Asian Cup football qualifying tie against Japan on October 11. As per the revised fixture, the match against the defending continental champion was awarded to Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore, an AFC press release said. There was speculation that Goa would get to host the lucrative tie, but the honour went to the `Garden City' and the match will be the final test ahead of the Asian youth championships to be held at the same venue later that month. The decision was reached at the fourth meeting of the AFC Asian Cup 2007 Organising Committee. PTI
