Protest against Mumbai blasts

Measures sought to trace the culprits and to curb terrorist activities



PROTEST: Anjuman-e-Islam members taking out a protest march in Hubli on Sunday to condemn the serial bomb blasts in Mumbai.

HUBLI: Members of Muslim community girls took out a protest march here on Sunday under the aegis of Anjuman-e-Islam to condemn the recent bomb blasts in Mumbai.

The protest march, which began from Nehru College passed through the thoroughfares of the city including Station Road, Koppikar Road, and Kittur Channamma Circle.

The march concluded at the Tahsildar's office, where a memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister was submitted.

The protestors sought measures to trace the culprits and strict measures against terrorist activities.

The former Minister Jabbar Khan Honnalli led the march. Addressing the protestors at the Tahsildar's office, he termed the bomb blasts as "inhuman" act.

The former MLC Ismail Kalebudde; the former council member Rafiq Kittur, and office-bearers of Anjuman-e-islam, took part in the agitation.
