STRIKING A CHORD: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy consoling an unemployed Scheduled Caste engineering graduate who broke down during the Chief Minister's visit to the pandal where the unemployed engineering graduates were on indefinite fast on Sunday .
GULBARGA: Poignant scenes were witnessed when Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy visited the pandal where the unemployed engineering graduates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes were on indefinite fast demanding that the State Government fill backlog vacancies in the Public Works and Irrigation departments. The Chief Minister, who arrived here by Karnataka Express at 5.45 a.m., straight away drove to the pandal where the engineering graduates were on fast, to persuade them to withdraw their agitation.
Plea
Even as the Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues Revu Naik and Sharanabasappa Darshanapur got down from their vehicle, the unemployed engineering graduates surrounded the Chief Minister and started pleading their case.
