Concreting work on Kathipara grade separator begins

CHENNAI:
Concreting work on the grade separator at Kathipara junction in the city started on Sunday in the presence of the Union Minister for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways T.R. Baalu.
The work is part of the Ministry's construction of grade separators at the Kathipara, Koyambedu and Padi junctions. According to a release, the Ministry — through the National Highways Authority — is also involved in the construction of a flyover on NH-45 (opposite Chennai airport) and the widening of the stretch from Maduravoyal to Koyambedu. The Ministry is also constructing pedestrian subways at Alandur, Tambaram, Pallavaram and Tirusulam at a cost of Rs.14.64 crore.
Four-laning of the Chennai bypass phase-I, connecting NH-4 and NH-45, is also being done.
