Woman found dead

BANGALORE: A 32-year-old probationary commercial tax officer was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her house in Fraser Town Police Station limits on Sunday.

The police gave the name of the victim as Shabana Tabassum, wife of Azam, resident of Lazar Road in Fraser Town.

The couple had a one-and-a-half-year old child, the police said.

Shabana's father has in a complaint to the police suspected it to be a murder and blamed his son-in-law for it. Fraser Town Police have sent the body for post-mortem.

The police are questioning Mr. Azam.

Killed in road accidents

Two persons died in as many road accidents reported from different parts of the city on Saturday.

Venkatesha Rao, a driver with a lorry transport company, died on the spot after being hit by a van near Venkatala in Yelahanka Police Station limits. The police have seized the van. Investigation is on.

A 20-year-old unidentified cyclist died on the spot in a hit-and-run case near Sangam Circle in Jayanagar Police Station limits. Jayanagar Police have registered a case.
