Plus One, degree classes begin

Hearty welcome to new entrants


  • Entertainment programmes held in various schools to welcome newcomers
  • Orientation class held for new students
  • Programmes were organised by teachers, students and parent-teacher associations

    KOZHIKODE: Higher Secondary schools in the city began classes for Plus One students for the new academic year on Monday, and welcomed them by organising different programmes.

    Some of the colleges in the city too began classes for the first-year degree students.

    At St. Joseph's Anglo-Indian Girls Higher Secondary School, a friendly talk by the Principal Sister Jovita welcomed the new students to the Plus One class.

    The senior students of Plus Two class chipped in by conducting an entertainment programme, and making the newcomers feel at home in their new surroundings. Classes began for the 315 students of Plus One class at Zamorin's Higher Secondary School. Providence Higher Secondary School will conduct a welcome programme for the new students on July 25. Classes for Plus One students began on Monday.

    Classes have begun for the first-year degree students of S.N College, Chellannur. There are a total of 260 seats in the degree class for different streams.

    St. Joseph's College Devagiri too conducted a combined programme for the new students and their parents on Sunday.

    At Zamorin's Guruvayurappan College, an orientation programme was held for students and parents with a view to familiarise the former on the facilities available at the college, the prevailing discipline, scholarships and sponsorships available to students, Principal, Sumathi Haridas said.

    Classes for the first-year degree course will begin at Malabar Christian College on July 25.
