Bangalore: Radha Madhav Corporation Ltd. (RMCL) has bagged a Rs. 40-crore order from the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) to manufacture printed milk sachets. The order from KMF, for two years, is for the supply of approximately 250 tonnes a month. Mitesh Agarwal, managing director, RMCL said in a statement, "The order from KMF is very important for the company's growth. We have increased our manufacturing capacity from 400 tonnes per month to 1,700 tonnes per month. We are further expanding our capacities by setting up additional units in Daman, which will further contribute to the company's growth." RMCL posted a net profit of Rs 3.02 crore on total income of Rs. 44.78 crore for the year ending March 31, 2006.
Footmart store
Footmart Retail India Ltd. has launched in Bangalore its first prototype store in South India, named `Shoe Factory.' Spread over 10, 000 sq. ft, the multi-brand store houses all kinds of footwear and other accessories. The store is based on the self-help concept, where customers can pick and choose from the range of products displayed, said Anupam Bansal, director, Footmart Retail India. The company is planning to expand its business by adding more stores by September 2006 in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Agra, Lucknow, and Chandigarh.
NRR to expand
N. Ranga Rao and Sons (NRR), makers of the `Cycle' brand of agarbathis, has announced its expansion plans in North India by ramping up the distribution network. NRR has four depots in Ambala, Lucknow, Zirakhpur and Delhi in addition to the existing depot in Ghaziabad. The Mysore-based firm also plans to foray into the `dhoop' category with the brand name `Dharthi.' This category is worth Rs. 200 crore and is about 20 per cent of the entire incense market. According to Arjun Ranga, chief executive officer and managing partner, the company also plans to introduce new variants exclusively for the North Indian market.
IndiGo flights
IndiGo, the low-cost airline, has opened bookings for its non-stop daily service between Bangalore and Pune, with the aircraft continuing to Delhi, beginning August 10. A non-stop daily service between Bangalore and Delhi will start on August 20, 2006. According to a press release, the one-way fare from Bangalore to Delhi starts at Rs. 3,249 and from Bangalore to Pune at Rs. 1,899. IndiGo is providing its customers the choice to book tickets through multiple options. Customers can check schedules and fares and book flights by visiting the website www.goindigo.in or by accessing http://mobile.goindigo.in with a GPRS-capable mobile phone. Alternatively, they can call the IndiGo call centre at (0) 9910383838.
Varman Aviation pact
Bangalore-based Varman Aviation has signed a contract with the Civil Aviation Department of the Jharkhand Government for supplying three Z 143L four-seater Zlin aircraft. The aircraft were manufactured by Moravan Aeroplanes of the Czech Republic. Besides, a Romanian-made glider would also be supplied to Jharkhand. The value of the two orders, obtained through a global tender, amounted to Rs. 4 crore, a company statement said.
