TIRUMALA: Elegance marked the `Pushpa Pallaki' procession that was conducted at the famous hill temple of Lord Venkateswara on Monday evening in connection with the annual Anivara Asthanam festival was observed amidst great religious fervour inside the temple sanctum sanctorum. The air was charged with the chanting of `Govinda Govinda' by several thousands of devotees who had congregated all along the mada streets encircling the hill shrine. According to the temple authorities, thousands of kilograms of aromatic flowers went into the making of the exquisitely decorated flower palanquin. Noted florists from different States, who reached the temple town on Sunday, participated in the making of the palanquin. The colourful festival lasted more than one-and-half hours. Earlier in the morning, Asthanam was conducted inside the temple sanctum. In connection with the festival, the TTD had cancelled all the daytime arjitha sevas inside the temple.
