`Check level of cardiac fitness'

NEW DELHI: Heart Care Foundation of India president K.K. Aggarwal on Monday said patients with heart diseases could themselves check their level of cardiac fitness and response to therapy by undertaking a six-minute walk test.

Dr. Aggarwal said the test involves walking at the same pace every time the test is done and then measuring the distance. Vikas Yadav's plea dismissed

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Monday dismissed an application moved by Vikas Yadav, son of former Member of Parliament D.P. Yadav and prime accused in the Nitish Katara murder case, seeking an early hearing of his bail application.

Justice A.K. Sikri dismissed the plea on the ground that the application did not warrant any merit as the accused's plea was already listed for hearing on August one. Vikas is facing trial for the alleged murder of his sister Bharti Yadav's boyfriend Nitish Katara, a businessmen in Uttar Pradesh, four years ago.

The case was transferred to Delhi on the direction from Supreme Court after Katara's mother moved an application apprehending that investigations would not be conducted in a fair manner since Vikas' father D.P. Yadav wielded considerable political influence in Uttar Pradesh.

Vikas had sought his release on parity with his cousin and co-accused Vishal Yadav who was earlier granted bail by the Delhi High Court.

However, Vishal's release on bail has been challenged by the Delhi police in the Supreme Court.
