Case against Nizamabad Mayor

NIZAMABAD: The Three Town police booked a case against D. Sanjay, Nizamabad Mayor, under Sections 143, 353, 506 read with 225B of IPC for allegedly entering the police station and obstructing the police officers who were on duty in the early hours of Friday.

A police officer on condition of anonymity told The Hindu that an First Information Rerport was prepared against the Mayor for entering and forcibly getting released his follower, Mahankali Ravi, who was taken to the station under a petty case.

The case has been under investigation, the officer said.
