NIZAMABAD: As many as 53 Home Guards, including three women, who had undergone a two-month training at the District Police Training Centre, Jankampet joined the Home Guards force after the passing out parade at the Police Parade Grounds, here on Monday. Additional Superintendent of Police B. Ananda Rao received the guard of honour presented by the Home Guards on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rao reminded them of their duties and asked them to be disciplined in service.
Quota increased
The quota for Home Guards in constable recruitment was increased from 10 to 20 per cent, he said. The Home Guards had completed training in law and order, patrolling, beat duty, arms drill, squad drill, traffic rules, bandobust, first aid, lathi drill and crime-related subjects. Reserve Inspector Bhupal and three Reserve Sub-Inspectors Chennakesavulu, Srinivas and Naresh were also present.
