Hypnotist to perform in city

Show is part of fundraiser for Loyola College church renovation

CHENNAI: Loyola College is all set to be mesmerised on July 21, when the world-famous hypnotist, Martin Taylor, of the United Kingdom will visit the college. Organised as a fundraiser for the renovation of the College's church, the `Stage Hypnosis Show,' claimed to be the first such show in the city, will focus on entertainment. Two performances are scheduled for July 21 at 11.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m.

The renovation of the church, which was built in 1931, was started this March. The college Principal, Albert Muthumalai, said that the church was damaged after the rains last year. It was decided to renovate the church as part of the platinum jubilee celebrations. The cost of the renovation was estimated at Rs.1.6 crore, of which work worth Rs. 30 lakh had been completed so far, he said.

For donor passes for the show, contact dean of students office (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.) at 2817 8314 or the Loyola Alumni Association (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) at 2817 8308. Contributions towards the church renovation can be drawn in favour of Principal, Loyola College, Chennai.
