DANCE FOR A CAUSE: Children perform at TANKER foundation's programme.
CHENNAI: TANKER foundation, along with Radhika Shurajit and troupe, recently presented a performance Konjum Salangai a dance tribute to lyricist Kannadasan. The show, in which the father-son actor duo Shivakumar and Suriya (the latter a goodwill ambassador for TANKER Foundation) participated, was a fund raiser for the foundation that works for the prevention and awareness kidney diseases and provides support to those living with kidney diseases. Mr. Shivakumar praised Kannadasan and Radhika's wonderful choreography and the programme, which featured Bharatanatyam performances for Kannadasan's popular and unforgettable lyrics. The show included dance numbers by child prodigy Jyotsana, and actor Manu of `Kaadhal Mannan' fame. The stars for the evening included danseuse Padma Subramanyam, actor-singer Malaysia Vasudevan, and actors Sarath Babu and Ambika. A.L Kannappan, a relative of Kannadasan, was present. The chief guest was Justice K.P Siva Subramanian. A release from TANKER noted that it had been conducting informational sessions at schools, colleges and community centres in and around Chennai.
