BANGALORE: Burglars attempted to loot the Central Bank of India's J.C. Road branch on Sunday night. Police said the thieves had entered the bank by cutting open the ventilator grills. The intruders had meddled with some cupboards in the bank, but had not stolen anything. Around 11.30 a.m. on Monday, the bank staff noticed that the ventilator grills were cut open and they informed the police. On a complaint from the manager of the branch, the Silver Jubilee Park police have registered a case.
Shop burgled
Burglars struck at a gift articles shop on 2nd Cross, Mahalakshmi Layout, on Sunday night and decamped with Rs. 45,000 and 10 wrist watches. The miscreants entered the shop by breaking open the locks, police said. On a complaint by the proprietor of the shop, Sameer, the Mahalakshmi Layout police have registered a case.
Laptop stolen
A laptop worth Rs. 45,000 was stolen from a software engineer's house in Girinagar police station limits on Sunday night. According to a complaint filed by Bharath Kumar, a resident of 2nd Cross, 3rd Stage, Banashankari, he had had kept the laptop on a table next to an open window in his house. The police suspect that the thief had made away with the laptop by putting his hands through the window. The Girinagar police have registered a case.
