Caught in the act at a press conference

At times, meetings can be a tad boring and induce sleep even to the most somnambulant tribes.

While it has almost got habitual for photographers to capture pictures of politicians taking a nap in the midst of meetings, here is one who proves that mediapersons too are not behind.

At a press conference addressed by RTC City Regional Manager C. Panduranga Murthy on Monday, a crewmember of the electronic media was seen blissfully asleep.

To the embarrassment of everyone around, the man began snoring too!

"Tallii Telangana" is back in limelight. The setback to the TRS in the recent local bodies polls might have prompted actress Vijaya Shanti to speak on the Telangana issue again.

After floating the party "Tall Telangana", the actress was nowhere to be seen, but during the Bonalu, she surfaced. And the biggest surprise was that she was travelling with Union Minister A. Narendra.

Notwithstanding his presence, she did raise some disturbing questions as to why the TRS leaders were not resigning to their posts. But going by the `reverence' shown by the TRS leaders to the actress, it would not be a surprise if she joined hands with the TRS.

Today's youth is ready to come out in the open about their reservations against caste system. It was evident at a recently concluded film festival organised by the Mass Communication students of Loyola Academy. The urban youth, when put in a rural setting, is often bewildered at the horrors of rural life. "It is shocking to see that in this age of technological advancement, people are still following caste system. They still differentiate on issues like upper and lower caste," said a student.

Art has always been the best medium to protest. The students of the Academy used it adequately. The effort of eight months including their visit to 18-20 villages in Rangareddy district finally turned out in a 20-minute film which questioned: Where are we heading to with such a major problem remaining unsolved?"
