Property tax: Mayor sets Rs. 250-crore target for MCH

Prizes given away to property taxpayers who have paid total tax with arrears for 2005-06


  • The SBH has sponsored Rs. 5 lakhs towards prize money
  • Mementos presented to officials for exemplary performance

    HYDERABAD: Mayor Teegala Krishna Reddy has set a stiff target of Rs. 250 crores for property tax collection for the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad for the current financial year as against Rs. 187 crores collected last year.

    Giving away prizes to property taxpayers who have paid the total tax with arrears during 2005-06 on Monday, Mr. Reddy appealed to all citizens to remit their taxes on or before July 31st and help the corporation serve them better.

    Earlier, he along with Deputy Mayor Subhash Chanderji, MCH Commissioner Sanjay Jaju, senior officials of the State Bank of Hyderabad and others participated in a lucky draw. The SBH has sponsored Rs. 5 lakhs towards prize money.

    Prize-winners

    Rs. 1 lakh bumper prize has been given away to S.K. Sardar, Circle IV - Mehidipatnam; first prize of Rs. 25,000 was bagged by Dhana Ananta Laxmi, second prize of Rs. 15,000 each was garnered by P. Sarojini, B. Ramachandraiah, Azmatullah Khan and G.V. Subrahmanyam.

    Third prize of Rs. 3,000 each was bagged by Pankaj Polymers, B. Biswas, Anwar Khanam, M. Ravinder, Hussain Ali and K. Padmavati. About 235 cash prizes were given away.
